In November 2021 the Trustees of Sir John Soane’s Museum, London, visited Downing College and the Centre for their autumn meeting, a rare occasion for such a meeting to take place outside London.
In April the Centre’s Director, Frank Salmon, gave a paper to the Cambridge Centre for Greek Studies, presenting some new ideas about the influence of the Erechtheion in Athens (as opposed to the Parthenon) on British, European and American Neo-classical architecture.
Cambridge University is delighted to announce the launch of new Centre for the Study of Classical Architecture, generously supported by the Axel and Margaret Ax:son Johnson Foundation for Public Benefit of Sweden.
